I think the only reason Daniel called was that Ed raised preflop and got reraised ( then daniel calls on button) and Ed calls. This shows most likely a mid pocket pair as in 77 88 or 99. The other guy had the 99 but with being in middle position with qq10 on a flop is a bad spot to be in. Then the turn being a heart Ed moves allin. So daniel odds in the counterfit cards and he has 19 outs if guy has pocket 99/88/77 or he has 12 outs if guy has trips. even if the guy has ace of hearts he can win.
